Position: Underwriting Assistant

Reporting to: Senior Underwriter

Job Summary: To provide operations support to Senior Underwriter to ensure high level of efficiency and quality in service delivery.

Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Registration of new business in the system
  • Processing Renewals and benefits adjusted in mid-term of the policy
  • Timely preparation and dispatch of Policy Documents and other relevant documents.
  • Process cancellation of policies where premium is not paid.
  • Filing of bring-ups for action by Senior Underwriter
  • Processing of debit notes, credits and refunds.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by Senior Underwriter from time to time.
Competence Requirements
  • Computer literate (MS-Office)
  • Ability to work well with others as a team player
  • Excellent communication skills, highly confidential & organized
  • Attention to detail & sense of business urgency
Qualification and Experience
  • Minimum C+ grade in both English and Mathematics in O-Levels.
  • Minimum Insurance Professional qualification (AIIK)
  • Minimum One (1) year experience in underwriting. 
  • Experience gained in an Insurance Broking firm will be an advantage.
